As you may have already seen and heard, plans are in progress regarding an exciting potential new development here at Stonebridge, details of which we are now pleased to be able to tell you more about.

We are constantly improving and investing in the facilities we have available here for the benefit of everyone from our members, their guests and visitors; the most recent of those additions being last year with the opening of our Stonebridge Adventure Golf course.

With that in mind, it is with great pleasure that we are able to share with you the news that a planning application has been submitted to North Warwickshire Borough Council for the construction of a new padel tennis centre at Stonebridge Golf Club.

This exciting new development is being jointly proposed by The Packington Estate - on which Stonebridge Golf is situated - and Padel4all, a multi-site operator based in the South of England who were one of the first to bring the hugely popular sport of padel to the UK.

The proposals for the padel tennis centre at Stonebridge Golf Club are to provide four new covered padel courts, with additional parking, an office area and surrounding landscaping. The facility will have state-of-the-art technology which will be used to provide on-line court booking, controlled LED lighting, court and membership payments, and CCTV monitoring. The proposals also state that the centre will always be manned and in total will employ five members of staff including a manager, two LTA-qualified padel coaches and two part-time front-of-house receptionists.

The facility will be the only dedicated padel tennis centre in the immediate area and will be available to be used by all members of the local community on a ‘pay and play’ basis at affordable pricing. The pricing model allows for concessions to juniors and students. Membership will also be available, which will give additional benefits of reduced court booking fees, court booking priority and discounts on padel equipment, whether to hire or buy.

Visitors will have chance to enjoy a wide range of soft drinks and snacks that will be available from the centre’s reception kiosk, along with the invitation and opportunity to dine with us in our clubhouse.

Whilst we pride ourselves on being a premier golf venue, part of the Packington Estate’s ongoing aims and objectives is to continue the investment in its land and facilities and to diversify its offering, ultimately to make us become an even more attractive family-friendly and inclusive venue to visit.

If the planning application is successful, the new padel tennis centre will be a fabulous addition to the club and wider estate, and a fantastic new venue for the local community and West Midlands region; one we envisage that people of all ages will want to visit and enjoy time and time again.

We anticipate that a decision on this application is expected by no later than 1^st December 2025, this after the Public Consultation period ends on 9^th October 2025.

To alleviate any immediate concerns you may have, it should be stressed that if the application is successful, the building and location of the new padel tennis centre will have no impact on the golf course or the driving range which will continue to operate as normal.
